Our areas of expertise
We provide professional nursing service on a full or part-time basis.
1Home-based care and nursing
- Tailored approach – our care is highly personalised to suit your very specific requirements. The right skills are vital, obviously, but so is the ‘personal fit’. We work closely with our patients and their families to take candid and confidential briefings on the type of carer they’re looking for. We then take care to match our staff with your needs.
- Peace of mind - all staff are vetted specifically to ensure they’re suitable to work in your home. Not only are they screened by the New Zealand Police for security clearance. They’re also assessed for personality and presentation.
- Personal empathy – we place a strong focus on this. We’re sensitive always to the fact that we’re in your personal space.
2Rehabilitation care and nursing
- Caring and motivating – our specialist staff know exactly what it takes to support successful rehabilitation. They’re fully trained to deal with not only with the physical side of things, but the mental side as well.
- Personalities count – we know that having the right nurse or carer at your side can help enormously with the rehabilitation process. That’s why we go to great lengths to match personalities. To ensure your rehabilitation team is as close, and as effective, as it can possibly be.
- Help where it’s needed – our services are available across the full spectrum of care locations; from hospitals through to private residences, hospices and rest homes.
3Mental health care and nursing
- Specialist focus – there is a growing need for support in this area. We have responded by ensuring we have a raft of mental health nursing specialists on hand to deliver care and support where it’s needed, and to deal competently and sympathetically with the complex and challenging behaviours often associated with mental health care.

- Approved supplier - we have direct contracts with several government agencies and departments, such as Waikato DHB and Hauora Waikato, associated with mental health care.
4Dementia care and nursing
- Special skills – our dementia care and nursing staff are well equipped to help. They’re specially trained in memory-loss and dementia patient handling.
- Sympathy and dignity – our teams understand exactly what dementia patients have to deal with. Griffin Healthcare staff will always deal with the issues facing dementia patients, and their families, gently and kindly. We’ll never patronise, and our patients’ dignity is paramount.
